As outdoor enthusiasts get their new license for the year besure to check out the “Big Time Texas Hunts” the TP&W isoffering.
Each year the TP&W sells chances at a combination of huntpackages and there is something for every hunter. The folks wentall out this year and any hunter could consider any one of thehunts a “once in a lifetime” deal. There are seven hunt. in all andthe lucky winners will get to hunt on some of the best privateranches and management areas in the state.
Chances are only $9 each, and entrants can pick and choose toenter all or one. There are no limits on the number of times aperson may enter.
The grand prize or “Texas Grand Slam” is an awesome package thatincludes hunt. for all big game animals in Texas. This lucky winnerwill receive a hunt for desert bighorn sheep, white-tailed deer,pronghorn antelope and desert mule deer. The desert bighorn huntwill take place on one of the TP&W wildlife management areasand the remaining hunt. will take place on exclusive privateranches that donated the hunts.
The “Texas Whitetail Bonanza” will be awarded to 10 luckyentrants. These hunts will take place on WMA’s and private ranchesacross the state. The cool part about these 3-5 day hunt packagesis the winner can take along a companion to hunt as well.
The “Texas Premium Buck Hunt” will take place on the CaimanRanch in Deep South Texas. The brush country is world renowned forproducing giant chocolate antlered bucks and this ranch has plentyof the mature bruisers. This lucky winner will be able to take anon-hunting guest on the trip.
The TP&W didn’t leave out the bird hunters. One winner willenjoy unique hunting trips for upland game birds. You and up tothree of your friends will enjoy two days of quail hunting, twodays of pheasant hunting in the Panhandle and two afternoons ofdove hunting. One guest can also join you for a two-day guided huntfor spring turkey. Trips also include a Coastal Prairies guidedhunt for snows, blues and white-fronted geese; a guided duck huntin the Coastal Marshes; and a hunt for wood ducks and mallardsright here in East Texas.
The exotic hunter will be happy to hear there is a safaripackage. The world famous Mason Mountain WMA has exotics such as,sable antelope, gemsbok oryx, scimitar-horned oryx or axis deer.Hunters may choose to shoot the exotic game with a modern rifle,muzzleloader, archery or crossbow. Winners can also bring along acompanion to hunt exotic animals.
Last but not least is the alligator hunt. This three-dayadventure will take place on the JD Murphree WMA and the winner andone guest will take one trophy gator.
